It's so difficult to capture true color in photographs. As the saying goes, "these photos do not do the color justice."
The fact that it was a rainy day helped to bring out some of the color in the photos, but even still there is a deep richness to the purple that is missing.
While there are several types of purple mushrooms, they are still very much novel to me. Flowers aside, anything that is naturally purple is just inherently fascinating to me. Now that sounded like a bit of a back handed comment to flowers — which it was not meant to be as flowers still fascinate me, but they are more commonly purple. Sorry, flowers.
