It was not until after returning to identify these photographs, that I noticed the delightful bend in the stem of the smaller mushroom.

These boletes rose from between two logs, crawling up from between. Wedging my camera between the logs I was able to capture a perspective that I would have otherwise missed.

They were soft to the touch — cloud-like and airy. In some ways they felt very delicate, yet they had a similar flexible quality to that of a sponge.
