"Woah, is that a soccer ball?"
Nope, that is a giant puffball. Just having passed through a section of the forest with a very limited amount of mushrooms, I was overcome with excitement when glancing off the trail to see this large white object.
A circumference of 58.5cm
Certainly the largest puffball that I have seen to date — although after researching giant puffballs this particular puffball is on the smaller side.
More commonly found puffballs are the Common Earthball (Scleroderma citrinum)) and the Gem-Studded Puffball (Lycoperdon perlatum).
